jewelry organizer?
I'm looking to make some kind of jewelry organizer/display that can hang on a wall (due to my lack of counter space). Can anyone give me ideas? Images will really help because I'm an image type of person (or something..). Thank you.

I use a piece of nylon, you know from panty hose. I cut a piece about 8 inches X 8 inches and tack it down on all four corners with colored push pins. This works very well for pierced ear rings!!
You can either use driftwood to hang your necklaces and some rings and or use small wooden or plastic dowels mounted in either wood our Plexiglas.
The latter of the two is fairly easy to make and you can make the size and shapes you want, (they do not have to be square or rectangle...)

Have you seen those boards with a bunch of tiny hooks for keys? Great for necklaces or bracelets. My friend who deals Silpada made earring displays by covering "something" (I think she used shallow boxes and covered an insert like heavy cardboard) with a burlap like material. She uses this for all her hook style earrings - not earrings with posts.
How about using a corkboard - whatever size you need - and using decorative pins for looping bracelets and necklaces; above that a hook style earring covering like I described above. and then figure something else for your post type earrings. Hmmm. let me think some more!

Go buy or use an old picture frame, One that matches your decor. Take the glass out or not and use the smallest glue hooks you can find. Place all over pic for necklaces.
I bought a shadow box (picture frame) for cameos that I don't wear, used rose colored Velvet behind them, looks great!
And for ear rings & hair clips, I use 2 jazzy colored cloth belts, (hanging by the belt buckle) on both sides of my vanity. I tacked lil victorian fans on the buckles.
Find a flat piece of wood you think is cool, or something you can stain or paint, use screw in wood hooks.
Go to the mall, they have great jewelry holders, for walls also.
Or buy some shelving and start collecting nice jewelry boxs to hand down you your kids.
I have a friend that used shelving as a border around the top part of her walls. She collected jewelry boxs & music boxs, placed on shelves, looks cool...
Hope that helped ya out.

You can search for "wall mount jewelry" on ebay and see several examples. The link below shows one similiar to one I bought my wife. Cant help you with getting plans but they look pretty straightfoward. Should be able to use standard jewelry box hardware.
