I am moving into a smaller place and don't have the floor space for a jewelry armoire. I'd rather not spend the money for a wall mounted one either and am just looking for a cheap alternative for storing jewelry. It doesn't necessarily have to be purchased. Any idea is helpful!

I am a jewelry fanatic and am looking for a creative, inexpensive way to store all my jewelry. I have lots of longer necklaces (the kind you can double, triple, or knot), lots of regular necklaces, chunky bracelets, and earrings (hoops and fishhook styles). I was considering buying an armoire to store it all, but just can't justify the expense right now. Besides, I don't need all the ring storage as I really don't have many rings. I do, however, need to organize all my items so I will remember what I have and wear them all more often. I enjoy doing simple craft projects that don't require lots of power tools. It can be one unit, or a combination of things. They can be wall mounted (not too complicated) or stored on top of the dresser. Thanks in advance for the help and ideas!

I want something that will be attractive when displayed. I have thought of the tackle box idea, but don't really have a place to put them out of sight. Our closet space is at a premium.
